Occupy Boston is shaking off the rust and getting back into swing for summer. Expect a raucous summer, folks.
After a winter and spring without hardly a peep, organizers at Occupy Boston announced a meeting for this past Friday, June 1, to discuss the future of the movement. Around 75 answered the call to gather at the Parkman Bandstand — some familiar faces from Dewey Square and some new to Occupy altogether.
They aired concerns, debated the identity/identities of the movement and began to shape goals, tactics and strategy for the “long summer” ahead. They even crowdfunded some pizza.
If Boston’s occupiers were shaking some rust from their twinkle fingers and brushing up on gender pronoun awareness, “quiet” is not a word to expect from them in the coming months.
